Join us for a magical weekend at the award winning luxury Te Koi, The Lodge at Bronte.
Just half an hour from Nelson, Te Koi is nestled on the waters edge of the Waimea Estuary at Mapua.
We are in good hands with owners Ian and Ali Metcalfe creating a special weekend for Nourish. (If you’re from the Waikato you’ll remember them from Andersons, Harwoods, Rustici, and Ferrybank Reception Centre.)
Friday 27th November
Arrival, 12 noonish, share a luncheon platter and settle into the lodge.
Then we are spending the afternoon with Ali in the kitchen, learning to make The Koi’s beautiful signature dishes.
Pre-dinner, visit the boutique Himmelsfeld Winery, meet internationally renowned winemaker Beth Eggers, and taste her delicious aged wines.
Then we’ll enjoy the lodge and experience more of Ali’s fresh regional food, matched with local boutique wines.
Saturday 28th November
After a leisurely country breakfast we’ll visit the Nelson Farmers Market, before a visit to Neudorf Mushrooms, a wild mushroom farm in the Moutere Valley. Learn the fascinating science behind growing these mushrooms, many of them rare in New Zealand. After a simple mushroom themed lunch we’re off to explore the Moutere Artisan Trail which has sculpture, pottery, The Old Post Office which is a collective of local artists and The Moutere Pub for those up for a Craft Beer tasting.
At dinner savour some of Te Koi menu favourites, matched with wine from Kina Cliff winery introduced by their wine-maker.
Sunday 29th November
Our last morning at the lodge to soak up the beautiful surrounds before catching flights back home.
