200g dark chocolate
250g butter
1½ cups brown sugar
4 eggs
1 & 1/3 cups flour
¼ tsp baking powder
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup store-bought caramel
Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Allow to cool for a few minutes and then add the brown sugar and eggs. Mix well. Stir in the flour, baking powder and cocoa. Pour half the mixture into a greased brownie pan. Dot half the caramel on before pouring on the rest of the brownie mix. Finally scatter the rest of the caramel on top. Bake at 180°C for 40 minutes.
Could you please tell me what kind of store bought caramel you use, the only one I could think of was the tin condensed milk caramel…. can you let me know as I would love to try this wonderful recipe..
Thanks for your help. Susi
Hi Susi
I used Highlander condense milk caramel but you can now get some great South American Dulce de Leche (or caramel in a jar)
Can this be frozen for a week or so.
I can’t see why not Wendy.
